In quantum mechanics, the Collapse of the Wave Function is the process by which a physical system stops being in a “mix” of many possible states and settles into a single, definite state. This transition occurs specifically when a measurement or observation is made.
Aside from Schrödinger’s Cat (Paradox), there’s an idea that the wave function never actually collapses. Instead, the universe just splits into different branches for every outcome…
